This Week in the Parish

Monday Morning Scones & Notes: You're invited to join Deacon Pat in West Wing at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 5, for a ministry of hospitality. Please bring greeting cards, note cards, and your favorite pen.

If you need a check for reimbursement or other expense from St. John’s before June 1st, you will need to get your request in by next Tuesday. Sue will be cutting checks next week, then no more until after her return from vacation at the end of May.

This week’s trivia question: A prize will be awarded to the first correct responder to this question: what is the Order of St. Vincent? Clergy members, you’re too savvy; let someone else have a chance.

Prayer for the Diocese in this time of transition: Almighty God, we pray that the power of Christ's love may be present in our lives as we, the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon, enter a time of prayerful discernment and transition to new leadership. May the Holy Spirit illumine the hearts and minds of those who have the responsibility to lead us as we prepare to build on the vision that is before us. Let not the prospect of change be an occasion for fear and confusion, but rather a time to build trust and increase understanding that Christ's love may be made known between us and among us that your will may be done. Amen.
