Confirmation classes to begin for St. John's Youth. Any of our parish youths who are 16 years old (or really close to 16) and wish to be confirmed should call Fr. Thurston for further information. The classes will be held on Sundays at noon for approximately one hour. Attendance is expected. It is also hoped that those who are confirmed will participate in the Storyline program beginning in January. Bishop Hanley will be at St. John's on January 15.

Fr. Thurston is interested in knowing of members of St. John’s who would find a grief support group helpful. He has a possible leader for a group who is skilled in grief work and is available for a group meeting. Please let the office know if this is something that would be supportive and helpful to you.

Pledge Update as of November 30th: As of Wednesday, November 30th, we have received a total of 106 pledges, 81% of our goal of 130 pledges. These pledges were for a total of $177,004.00, 84% of our goal of $210,000. If you have not yet renewed your pledge for 2012, please return your pledge card in the offering plate or to the office. If you did not pledge this year, please consider beginning a pledge for 2012. And, of course, THANK YOU to all who have pledged for 2012.

The Altar Guild Flower Brigade is looking for a person to arrange flowers for the altar the second Sunday of each month. Please contact Zee Wilks to volunteer.

Adult education: at 9 a.m. in the West Wing we will be studying Isaiah as an appropriate Bible study leading through Advent on through the Christmas season. In order to prepare, please read 1 Isaiah up through the 9th chapter. This is beautiful reading and I look forward to having you present for this study together. Fr. Bud Thurston.

Any time that the public schools are closed due to weather conditions, the Parish office will be closed as well.

If you have used cardboard boxes and/or packing materials (Styrofoam peanuts, etc.), Ken Hoyt can re-use them-please bring them in to the office.
