E-bulletin

WHAT A WONDERFUL RESPONSE! You deserve a heap of praise! The assortment and amount of helpful items is wonderful. It's received by shelter staff with pleasure and gratitude and you can be sure the recipients will feel the same way.
The blue bins will be in the Narthex the next two Sundays so, if you choose to participate, they will be ready for you. An informal inventory (a long one!) will be posted in the parish hall shortly after June 5th so you can see the extent of our parish generosity, plus that of some of our friends and families.
A great big "THANK YOU" on behalf of those you are helping.
A friendly reminder: If you need to store items in the narthex cupboards, please label them with your name. Thank you from St. Martha's Guild!

WAAAM – June 11th
The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum is unusual because all planes, cars, trucks and motorcycles on display are in operating condition. When you take a look at one of these pieces of history, you’re looking at something that isn’t just a shell, but something that is ready to fly, drive or ride.
A group outing is planned for Saturday, June 11th. We will gather at the church at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and head to our destination in Hood River. Travel will be by carpool, rented van, or personal vehicle, dependent on the number taking the trip and your needs. If you’re interested in seeing ‘living history,’ then plan to come along. This is a great event to invite your friends and neighbors to.
There are several great things about our visit to the museum on Saturday, June 11.
Because it is the second Saturday of the month, they will put several planes, cars and motorcycles into action. Since the museum is in Hood River, there are endless opportunities to visit scenic areas, brew pubs, wineries, and restaurants, many with fantastic views. There is even an Alpaca farm. Consider making a weekend of your visit by staying at a Bed & Breakfast.

The Design and Landmarks Committee and Planning Commission will review the latest design of the Portland – Milwaukie Light Rail Project’s Kellogg Bridge structure at a joint session on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Safety Building Community Room, located at 3200 SE Harrison St.
The Design and Landmarks Committee (DLC) hosted the City’s monthly Light Rail Project meeting in January and in March committee members and citizens provided the design team input on an early iteration of the structure’s design. The designers will explain how the current design reflects the input collected at that meeting. Public input will be taken at the June 1, 2011 joint meeting.
The direction provided by the Design and Landmarks Committee and Planning Commission at this meeting will guide the application TriMet will submit this summer for City approval. This autumn, the two groups will make the decisions on the land use permits required for TriMet to construct the bridge that will span Kellogg Creek, Kronberg Park, and McLoughlin Boulevard. The bridge location was approved by a state land use decision, but it is still subject to local review for compliance with design guidelines and environmental restoration standards.

This year's Pentecost plate offering has been designated by the Diocesan Council for William Temple House. Please encourage your congregation to be generous for this organization that has so much for others.
Founded in 1965, and named in honor of a former Archbishop of Canterbury, William Temple House has been serving working poor individuals and families through ministries of body, mind, and spirit by its three service divisions of social services, counseling and pastoral care.
William Temple House actively seeks to partner with Episcopal congregations to support ministries of outreach and social justice. Together, we draw our strength as described in the baptismal covenant:
Seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves
