E-bulletin

St. Martha's spent some time cleaning out the cupboards in the parish hall this week - and there is some good news and some bad news.  The good news is that St. John's will NEVER run out of plastic silverware!  The bad news is that there has been a great deal of waste due to items being put back in the cupboards but not back with other "like" items making it hard to see what supplies we do or do not have.  St. Martha's asks you to do your part by putting unused supplies back in the cupboards where you found them.  Thank you!

ADULT ED  9:00 a.m. The apostle Paul has been described as the first and greatest Christian theologian.  His letters were among the earliest documents to be included in the New Testament and, as such, they shaped Christian thinking from the beginning.  Deacon Pat will lead a four-week exploration of the life and writings of Paul – continuing February 6, 13, and 20.  Please bring Bible.

What's happening at WILLIAM TEMPLE HOUSE and how does our Children's Clothing Center fit in with its ministries?  A board member from WTH will join us for 10 minutes of Q&A in West Wing - 9 a.m. Sunday, February 13.
The response for a Parish Camping Trip has been bigger than anticipated!! The big challenge is that there are so many different kinds of campers that want to go - RVs down to tents.   Alas, after checking numerous campgrounds, there is almost nothing left for weekends this coming summer on the coast or in mountains for a group.  So, in regard to the group camping - this fall we will pick a date for next summer and advertise it well in advance of the reservations window. State Parks take reservations 9 months in advance.  For a July camping date, we will need to make reservations in October.  Stay tuned for more information!!

February 13th -- Acolyte training will be in the West Wing following the 10:00 service. We plan to wrap up by 1:30 pm.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Acolyte ministry is welcome to contact me, Fred Van Drimmelen, Acolyte Coordinator (503) 652-5923

Relay For Life of Milwaukie:  Is anyone interested in starting a team for the Relay? We have some wonderful plans developing for the event. Our theme is "Cruise for a Cure!" and all teams will pick a port city of choice to decorate their campsites. (My team chose Jamaica!!) All participants will get a passport to get stamps around the track at the different port cities! We already have 25 teams registered and would love to have more join us! Please visit our website at www.relayforlife.org/milwaukieor and sign up your team and port city of choice today! All you need is a captain to sign up =)
Thanks for your support with this cause that is so important to me!
