E-Bulletin

Thursday night’s worship services have been cancelled for this week, due to Diocesan Convention.  The Eucharist will be celebrated again on Thursday, November 4th.

A Gift to You and Your Friends As a member of our parish you have been anointed with the power to invite whomever you wish to our Halloween Party at NO cost to you or your friends!!  It is going to be an event worthy of your time and effort.  Of course it will be because our very own extraordinary lady, Hillary Regan, and the Sunday School staff are the planners and doers!  Come and enjoy one of life’s quality fun times.  You owe it to yourself!  It’s free!  No strings attached!  Well…..maybe a string from the GIANT Spider Web, but you’ll have to come to experience it.

Please keep Maria Aikin, Gail Buchanan, Tim Mills, and Rose Reardon in your thoughts and prayers as they are in Eugene representing our parish at the annual Diocesan Convention.  On Sunday, we will have a report on the workings of the Diocesan Convention from them—resolutions, elections for various diocesan committees and the address of our new Bishop, Michael Hanley.

There are only 2 more Sundays where we will be collecting for Operation Santa. You can be a part of this program to bring a little cheer to our Marines in Afghanistan by bringing a donation to church on Sundays or dropping one off in the office. We will be packing our gifts on November 11th, Veteran's Day. Anyone wishing to help please contact Linda Kidd.

Sue Hiscoe will be attending a CREDO Conference next week.  Sue has accepted an invitation to attend a CREDO conference from November 1-8, 2010 at the Cerveny Conference Center located in Live Oak, Florida. The eight-day conference provides participants with the means to find direction and clarity in four component areas: spiritual, health, vocational, and financial. CREDO provides a foundation for participants to embrace wellness and to prayerfully discern the direction of their vocation.
CREDO was founded in 1997 as a pilot program funded by The Church Pension Group. Episcopal clergy, lay employees, deacons and bishops from virtually every diocese in the country have taken advantage of the CREDO benefit.
Sue will join approximately 30 other lay employees in the CREDO conference. Over the course of the conference, participants will meet in plenary sessions, small groups and private consultations with faculty members. Participants also have ample quiet time to reflect on their personal and professional lives.  She will return to the office on November 10th.

Adult Education at St. John’s:

In Advent (beginning on the 28th of November) Bud Thurston will do an Advent study on the Gospel of John.  Bring a Bible and learn and discuss this important Gospel writer in the life of the church.
